This Catalogue Database of the Batavia's Uitgaand Briefboek, 1621-1792 at the Historiographical Institute
(hereafter HI) provides metadata (bibliographical data) for all documents included in the BUB, not only of
those related to Japan.
The original volumes of the BUB, a part of the Dutch East India Company (Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie=VOC) documents, are preserved in the National Archives of the Netherlands, in the Hague.

The Catalogue was developed with the approval of the National Archives.
